Biography of Steven E. Sacks, CPA, CGMA, ABC
Senior Advisor
Prior to founding Solutions to Results, LLC, a strategic communication practice, Steve spent 35 years in the accounting profession, the last 30 of which he spent in accounting firm association membership.


Steve led the AICPA consulting services division, which included a membership section for CPAs who provided non-traditional, value-added services. During this time he led the development of the first set of standards for consulting services and widely acclaimed Accredited in Business Valuation (ABV) credential. He provided guidance through publications that focused on niche development, public relations and a body of knowledge that was used in developing conferences and workshops.


Following this, he served as executive director for 11 years with Moore Stephens North America, an accounting and consulting membership association where through his efforts helped the worldwide organization break into the top 10 of associations and networks. Besides attracting over 15 new firms, many of which were Top 100 firms, he expanded the association’s presence in Canada and Mexico. Steve published an award-winning newsletter, The Moore You Know…; established strategic partnerships with software companies, publishers and consultants; and developed strategies to strengthen the collaboration and cooperation with the headquarters on all continents where Moore Stephens firms had a presence.


Before entering association management, Steve worked in a mid-size and large CPA firm in audit and accounting and quickly realized that consulting services for clients was a more valuable undertaking than the process for collecting an amorphous blob of financial data and fitting it into a financial statement that was presented to the client three months after the prior year ended. He believed a more useful undertaking was to discuss the issues behind the numbers.


His strong relationships with clients, members, committees and boards is based on his ability to understand both the spoken and unspoken concerns and to communicate solutions with clarity and insight


Speaking and Writing

For 10 years, Steve was managing editor of the Business Edge, an award-winning newsletter directed to senior financial leaders in business and industry and covered organizational development, operations and business management, and personal career development, among other topics. He has been published in the PCA Practice Management Forum, Accounting Today and the Journal of Accountancy.

Education and Certifications

Steve received a BBA in public accounting from Pace University in New York. He is also a Certified Global Management Accountant and an Accredited Business Communicator.  Steve is a member of the American Institute of CPAs, American Society of Association Executives, International Association of Business Communicators and an editorial advisor to the Journal of Accountancy.
