Biography of David Spitulnik
Senior Advisor
David Spitulnik is a catalyst for change who has worked with companies, both as an executive and an advisor, to advance ideas from concept to successful execution. His more than 35 years experience includes leadership roles in both large, multi-national firms and in consulting to and leadership of mid-market and closely held businesses across a variety of industries.
David’s consulting practice focuses on developing and implementing strategies that drive transformation, growth, diversification and value creation. This involves working with organizations to define where they want to go, committing their plan to writing, defining the metrics and timeframe for execution, and coaching the teams and leaders charged with executing the plan. An important element of designing planning processes with clients has been to develop procedures for evaluation of opportunities not in the existing plan. Selected assignment results include:

Reenergized and revitalized client planning processes leading to reduced product offerings combined with increased overall revenues for a major industrial products distributor;

Reduction in operating expenses by 15% and in overall G&A by 10% for a $30 million manufacturer; and
-
Development of a succession planning process for a multi-generational, family owned business.
David has also worked extensively with companies to lead and advise on domestic and international merger, acquisition, divestiture and joint venture activity. He has led and executed over 30 global transactions ranging in size from $10 million to $250 million
David was previously President of Maine Plastics, Managing Director of Strategic Services at Blackman Kallick (now Plante Moran), VP of Business Development at Motorola, Director of Corporate Development at Centel and consultant for Booz, Allen & Hamilton.
Education and Certifications
David earned his MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern and his BA from Haverford College. He has also attended executive development programs at the Center for Creative Leadership.
Board and Volunteer Activities
David currently serves as the head of the Program Committee and on the Executive Committee for the Youth Job Center in Evanston. He is also President of The Pete Henderson Society for Kellogg. David has served on and chaired several advisory and joint venture boards.
